Can I have The Fellowship's financial information?
Yes. Our most recent audited financial statements are available by written request or by calling our Donor Services Department at (800) 486-8844.
Is The Fellowship approved by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance?
Yes. The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization) voluntarily submits to a thorough examination by the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance. In the spring of 2004, we were one of the first not-for-profits entitled to display the BBB Charity Seal, showing full compliance with their Standards for Charitable Accountability. These standards encourage fair and honest solicitation practices and promote ethical conduct by charitable organizations. Because The Fellowship has earned and displays this seal, you have assurance that we are firmly committed to financial accountability and fiscal transparency. Does The Fellowship meet the standards of the Evangelical Council of Financial Accountability?
The Fellowship takes great pride in maintaining the highest ethical standards possible. To that end, we do our best to follow the Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship dictated by the ECFA. However, because of our work in both the Jewish and Christian communities, we cannot ascribe to the ECFA Doctrinal Statement (which is a Christian-only statement of faith), though we do voluntarily comply with all other standards of the ECFA.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. You will receive a tax-deductible gift receipt approximately two weeks after we receive your gift.
Can I give a gift to The Fellowship in honor/memory of a loved one?
Yes. We can send you a brochure explaining how your honor/memory gift to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews can provide a meaningful tribute to a friend or loved one. You can request this brochure by calling our Donor Services Department at (800) 486-8844 or emailing us at [email protected] If you prefer, you can give your gift over the phone and provide us with the information so we can send out the acknowledgement.
Can I make an anonymous donation to any of The Fellowship programs?
We appreciate your wish to remain anonymous. Rest assured that your privacy is important to us. We do not make the names of our donors known to those they have helped, nor do we sell, rent or publish their names.
Can I give monthly through my credit or debit card, or have my donation deducted automatically from my bank account?
Yes. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, and can bill your credit or debit card for the duration of time you desire. Call our Donor Services Department at (800) 486-8844 to set up a credit card pledge.
We also have an electronic funds transfer (EFT) program. Each month your gift to The Fellowship can be deducted automatically from your bank account. If you call our Donor Services Department at (800) 486-8844, we can send you the simple form to complete. You will be required to provide a voided check so we can obtain your bank information.
How much of my gift goes to administrative costs?
Donations designated for a specific project (such as On Wings of Eagles) fund only that project and educational and fundraising activities directly associated with that project. Administrative costs are paid for with contributions that are not designated for projects. In the previous year, 80 cents of every dollar we raised went directly to our programs.
Can I give my gift to a specific person?
Since our projects are carried out by partners who identify those in greatest need at the time funding is received, it is not possible to set aside a gift for a particular person. Your gifts will benefit those people most in need.
If your headquarters are in Chicago, why do you have a post office box in Washington, DC?
Although our offices are in Chicago, we have found that it is more economical and secure to use an outside company to process our contribution mail. The company we use for this service is closer to Washington than Chicago, so contributions sent to this post office box (P.O. Box 96105, Washington, DC, 20090-6105) are put to work helping needy people faster.
Does The Fellowship hold charitable status in Canada?
Our sister agency, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews of Canada, is registered with the Canadian Customs and Revenue Agency, and can accept tax-creditable gifts for Isaiah 58 and Guardians of Israel.
