Yitzhak: "Thank you for appreciating that young people are giving our best years to the army"
Hello, my name is Yitzhak, and I am a student studying political science and communications in the Kinneret College. I grew up in Galilee. After high school, I began my army service in the ground forces as part of the Nachson unit. As part of my service, I was trained and served as a platoon commander. I finished my service at the level of first sergeant, and every year I am called up for reserve duty.
After the army service, I very much wanted to continue to academic studies. However, I didn't have the means to pay for my studies. No one in my family, other than one sister, went to college. This was mainly due to the fact that no one in our family was encouraged to go to college and we also don't have the money to support academic education, considering that both of my parents have been unemployed for a substantial amount of time.
After my army service, I worked for a few years in a few different places, but still was not able to save enough money for my bachelor's degree. Therefore, I want to thank you and show my full appreciation. It is highly doubtful that I would be able to begin my studies this year without the scholarship and your help.
I want to thank you for appreciating the fact that young people are giving our best years to the army. I am happy to know that there are people like you who understand that many soldiers who leave the army need financial assistance in order to proceed in life and try to make our dreams come true.
I am investing most of my time to my studies. However, in the little time I have, I am volunteering twice a week for the charity organization Latet. I am preparing food portions for the needy.
Thank you again with all my heart for the kindness that you are doing. May God bless you and may you have much success in all of your deeds.
